Thakkar meticulously hand-ground spices in her home, ensuring each blend was infused with freshness and authenticity. At a time when machinery was scarce, every batch was prepared with traditional methods and unmatched care. Meanwhile, her husband, Mr. Jethalal Chunilal Thakkar, would travel tirelessly—on foot and by bicycle—to deliver these handcrafted spices to homes and local markets. Their passion for purity and honesty quickly earned the trust of their customers, and soon, demand for their products began to soar.
Recognizing the growing need for high-quality, conveniently packaged spices, they took a bold step forward. In 1971, they established their first factory in Ahmedabad, pioneering the concept of grounded spices in attractive packaging—a revolutionary move in Gujarat’s spice industry. What started as a small homegrown business flourished into a household name, known for its rich aroma, vibrant flavors, and unwavering commitment to quality.
A Legacy of Strength & Resilience
For decades, Jalaram Masala continued to thrive, but fate had its trials. In 2016, after the passing of Mr. Jethalal Chunilal Thakkar, his wife, Madhuben and his son, Mr. Bhavesh J. Thakkar, stood resilient, determined to uphold the family legacy. Their challenges intensified when a devastating fire reduced their factory to ashes, leaving them with nothing but their determination and their values.
Yet, adversity only strengthened their resolve. With the unwavering support of family, friends, and well-wishers, they rebuilt from the ground up. Within just four months, Jalaram Masala rose again, proving that true success is not just about what we create, but how we rise after falling.
